Quirks

I have been tagged again, and since there is not much going on in our lives right now I figured I will go ahead and do it. The Rules are....tell about some quirks of yours & then tag 4-6 other blogger friends to do the same. I have been called Obsessive Compulsive by a few of you so here it goes.....

~I have to have the shower curtain shut after getting out....it drives me crazy looking into the shower/bath, and what is the point of a pretty curtain if it is smashed in the corner? Might I add that Jason does not follow this rule, and I am pretty sure he does it on purpose.

~I have to have the toilet seat completely down, even the lid. It drives me nuts when it is not! (I am a bathroom freak)

~I set my alarm in the morning around 30-40 minutes before I actually get up. Somehow it wakes me up once to make it easier to get up after I hit the snooze button 5 times.

~If I think I forgot to unplug my curling iron/straightner, turn off stove, or not lock the door, I will turn my car around on my way to wherever and go home and make sure I didn't forget.

~I despise grocery shopping.

~I have to sleep with two pillows.

I tag......Nichole, Liz, Cassie, Christa, Keara, Tallie, and LACHELLE! (And whoever wants to do it!)

September 22

On this day two years ago, it was probably the hardest day of my life. My Grandma Hammond passed away on September 22, 2006 and even though it was a couple of years ago I still have a hard time. But the best things that came from that weekend were my Testimony of eternal families and being with all of my cousins/aunts/uncles. Through all the tears and broken hearts we all talked about the memories we had had with Grandma and Grandpa and how much they all taught us and how all of those lessons had made us who we were today. I was so grateful to know that I would see my Grandma again. My Grandma is one of the people I admire the most. I am so glad she left with her legacy and example to all of her children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren and everyone else who came in contact with her. I am also thankful for the amazing memories I have with her and I know I will keep those forever.

This is awesome

Ok, I just wanted to tell you all about this fun website I found (somehow I remember hearing about it from someone and I can't remember who so take the credit whoever you are). It is www.ldsjournal.com and it is so fun! I think a blog is kind of like a journal, but, I know some of us (me) don't like to pour out all the things we are thinking about or doing for everyone to see (no offense) and on this you just sign on and write! What's cool about it is if you want like a scripture or quote it adds it for you and you can put pictures on and everything. What I love about it is that it has a section called "All About Me" and that section is kind of like a question and answer page where they ask all these questions about you and your life and you go into detail. I know I like some type of organization and it is great. I still write in my personal journal of course, but this is cool to just write everyday happenings and honestly I would rather type than hand write any day. Lately I have been SO interested in Family History and Journals and stuff and I am so grateful my ancestors kept records of what they did in their lives so I really want to make sure my children and grandchildren and so on have the opportunity to hear about mine!

So much to say...

It is hard for me to believe summer is over....when my parent's helped us move in February they mentioned that they would maybe come out for Labor Day and visit.....well I remember thinking that was forever away and now it has come and gone. CRAZY! August was a flash to me. I don't even remember what happened that month. Bailey came at the end of the month and hungout for a week. That was so fun and I am so glad she came out. We shopped and went to Nauvoo and Carthage (of course), but the most fun of it was I was able to hang out with my little sis. She is the best! A week later my parents drove out here and of course we went back to Nauvoo and did all of that. My cousin Jon and his family drove up from Missouri to meet us there. We also went north a couple of hours to a town in Illinois called Galena. It is the cutest little town. The drive was right a long the Mississippi and gorgeous! We went up to Wisconsin too just to say we've been. There were parts of the drive that actually looked like Europe (with no mountains) because there were just rolling hills of green fields and forests. I couldn't believe how amazing it was. I can't wait until all of the leaves change colors and we can experience that. It was so fantastic my parents were able to take time out of their schedules and hang out in Iowa with us. They are the best and I couldn't ask for anyone better. It was pretty hard saying bye to them but I got through it and Christmas is only a few months away.

Jason is so busy in school.....if he isn't sleeping he is studying. He pulled his first all nighter a few weeks ago with his friends and I am sure there will be more of those. He gets up every morning around 4:30 or five and works out then studies before he goes to his 7:30 class. He is about a month away from the end of his first trimester which has flown by. It is hard to believe! He is playing on an intermural football team and his first game is this week, it will be interesting to watch. I am super excited! Honestly, we love it here. We of course miss our families and things back home but I wouldn't trade this experience at all. I love the friends we have made here and we know they are friends that will last forever even when we are done in Iowa. Now we will have people to see when we go to fun places like San Diego and Arizona! Our Ward is awesome and we both love our callings. I also feel really blessed to live so close to Nauvoo. I have ancestors that lived there and were friends with Joseph Smith and lived in Iowa and it is fun to read family history and recognize all of these places. It just feels like we are exactly where we need to be right now in our lives, to learn and experience new things and adventures!
