Cubs Win!

Unfortunately they didn't win today, but I felt it was appropriate to say because this past weekend we went to Chicago and not only did I think of Will Ferrell playing Harry Carrey on SNL, I also thought of Chris Farley (DA BEARS).

Anyway, since I am officially on the schedule now at work we decided to head over to Chicago while I still had an entire Saturday off this past weekend. We got up on Saturday morning and started driving and after realizing after 125 miles we missed the exit to take us there, we finally got to our destination. One of my college roommates (Christie) and her husband live in a suburb and took us on a tour of the city. I love it! It is such a cool city-I love all the old buildings and the skyline. Lake Michigan looks like an ocean-I am really excited to go there lots in the future. We were able to walk up and down Michigan Avenue and stop in some shops (H&M I love). Because Matt and Christie know I love baseball so much they drove me past Wrigley Field and U.S. Cellular stadium. Wrigley Field is so cool and I can't wait to go to some games! Then we went and had Chicago deep dish pizza and it was the best pizza I think I have ever had. Pretty much is was a really fun weekend. It was also great to see someone we know......and have known for awhile-like seeing family. Here are few pics from the trip. I realize none of them have Jason and I in them, that is a bad habit of ours. We take lots of pics of things but never any of us.

Everything is great-today it was like 65 degrees....it was raining all day but the grass is turning green and spring finally looks like it is here! Wahoo!!!

Spring Please!

We woke up this Easter morning with........snow. I was so bummed out, I thought that only happened in Idaho. The snow melted when the sun came out before church and then as we were walking out of church it started snowing again! We are getting teased...during the week while we are at work and school it warms up but once the weekends hit it is always cold!

The past couple of weeks have been great, they have flown by. Jason is busy at school and whenever he is not on campus he is in our dining room studying. I started work and it is nice, basically I have been on a computer for 8 hours a day training......I have never done anything like that before so it is all new. I don't think I have read and studied that much stuff since college! I should start actually doing everything on my own next week.

Things are good otherwise, today we went to lunch/dinner with Nate and Liz, Alan and Keara and their son Calvin, and the missionaries. It was really fun and I am glad we are meeting new people. Both couples are kind of in the same boat as Jason (they are starting the program in July and Jason in November) so they will be here most of the time with us throughout the next few years. I just can't believe how nice everyone is here in our ward, I haven't had to cook dinner on Sunday for the past few weeks because we have been invited to other member's homes. I think we have more friends here already than we did in Vegas and we lived in our ward for over a year! It is just really nice because mostly everyone is in the same situation.

We feel really blessed for all the things we have....the Gospel, our home, our families, and each other. We are so excited to hear Conference in a couple of weeks!

Thank Jesus for Public Television......Amen

Ok, so there is this public access station here and I don't think Jason and I have laughed so hard in a long time. Most of the shows, or recordings, are religious. Our personal favorite is this fun little ensemble of 3 ladies (we think they are) and a man and they are singing (sort of) and playing instruments (harmonica is my personal preference) to a camera-basically it looks like a home video audition tape gone bad. No offense to anyone who worships, but listen to how many times they say amen and praise and all of that good stuff. I can't remember the name of the group, but I do know their PO Box number......Anyway, here is a little tidbit of it. It is about a minute but please keep watching until the end...I can't seem to edit the beginning. We hope you enjoy. God Bless.....Amen.

PS Take notice of the cross with the thorned crown in the background. Also, sorry if it is shaking, I was laughing really hard.

Did they just say "praise bloodstains?"

Also, here is another great video. This unfortunately is not from that channel, this is from our cruise. I happened to get this great little dance routine from the guy in the white shirt, what do you think. Could he be on the next season of "So You Think You Can Dance?"

Social Scene

Jason and I finally have friends! We are so excited. On Saturday night we went over to a family in our ward, the Rogers, and had dinner and played games with them and a bunch of other people in the ward. It was so much fun. The family has 6 kids and he is in his last trimester here so they will moving back to Vegas (that is the area they are from) in July. Sad day, but it was great because we met other people who will be here longer. They said, "if we have six kids and we can make it anyone can." I joined this club, I guess you can call it that, for spouses of chiropractic students and the Rogers are the presidents. I am excited, and we met a bunch of other couples who were just starting out. We had stake conference yesterday so we were not in our actual ward, but I think we are like one out of two or three couples in our ward who do not have a child.......which is crazy!

Tomorrow I start work, I am kind of nervous....I hope I learn fast. Jason is doing well in school, I think one of his Physics classes is a little difficult, but he is getting through it. I am so glad we moved here, it is such a great experience!

Employed

I officially have a job, thank goodness. I was hired today to work at a US Bank and I am excited. I start a week from today What is crazy too is that the lady who hired me is from Logan, UT and raised her family in Star Valley, Wyoming. Small world!
